Don Cheadle to be War Machine, Not Terrence Howard

Hollywood Reporter reported that Don Cheadle will be taking over the role of Jim Rhodes in the Iron Man sequel.  It seems that negotations between Terrence Howard and Marvel about his pay didn’t work out.

Looks like there won’t be a “next time” for Terrence as War Machine.  I enjoyed his role opposite of Robert Downey Jr., but now with Cheadle on board, I guess the movie can focus on being more dark and serious. 

What I was really hoping for was that Marvel would decide that Terrence and Cheadle wouldn’t be needed for the role of Jim Rhodes, but they would have Robert Downey Jr. play Jimmy just because he’s so good at playing a black dude like in Tropic Thunder.

   That’s funny if RDJ also plays Jim Rhodes. He was so funny in Tropic Thunder.

   Jim Rhodes AKA ”Rhodey” is a nothing role. Any African-American actor can play him. I just wonder how much of a salary increase did Terrance Howard want for Iron Man 2?

   That’s too bad, I hate it when they change a role’s actor (except in the case of Dark Knight and Katie Holmes).
