On the heels of the popular Ultimate Avengers animated features comes HULK VS.  A straight to DVD animated smackdown involving HULK in two separate features.  The two features are Hulk VS Wolverine and Hulk VS Thor.  Both have their strong points, but Hulk VS Wolverine is better because its sheer bloody action and violence.  This is the Wolverine fans have been longing to see from the comics brought to life.  The 36 minute feature is perfectly paced and stunning in the amount of blood and gore.  It’s similar to more adult anime features.  The second feature, Hulk VS Thor is more …

Spider-Man Meets Obama – Marvel a Copycat?

spider man o Spider Man Meets Obama Marvel a Copycat?

In probably what is the most publicized comic book story since the death of Superman, Marvel released Spider-Man #583 featuring Peter Parker covering Obama’s inauguration. Of course, a villain tries to ruin the party and Spider-Man saves the day. I wish I can tell you that I bought the comic, but it’s sold out everywhere. ABC news was also covering the event and some people that bought the issue never bought a comic book before. People were waiting in line for at least a couple of hours in the miserable winter New York weather just to get there copy. One guy …

“Two Face Story Has Been Told” – Christopher Nolan

dark knight two face art Two Face Story Has Been Told Christopher Nolan

Attended the blu ray community screening for the Dark Knight where Christopher Nolan was answering questions from the fans. To tell you the truth, most questions could have been answered by watching the behind the scenes featurettes. Some questions had obvious answers such as:

“Why do you think Ledger’s performance as the Joker is so beloved by critics and fans alike”
and

“How was it shooting in Chicago”

I wish they didn’t filter the questions too badly. I was really wondering about the inconsistencies about the movie such as Batman always getting knocked out while being perfectly fine falling from his …

Dark Knight Midnight Release & Blu Ray Afterthought

Went to Best Buy at Orange, CA for Dark Knight’s midnight release. About 70 people were in line. The ratio of male to female was about 6 to 1. This really was a nerd event. Here’s the video of the line:…

7492685 Early DVD Review: The Dark Knight 2 Disc Special Edition

Lets get this out of the way first, The Dark Knight more than lives up to the hype. It’s beautifully filmed, extremely well-acted and edited, and its a thrilling experience from start to finish. It has shades of great crime dramas like Heat and Goodfellas, but it’s still a superhero film, so comparing it to others in the same genre seems more apt to me. It even makes Iron Man (which was a fine, entertaining film) look weak. …

7764575 Early DVD Review: Wanted 2 Disc Special Edition

Wanted is a hardcore, ultra-violent action flick.  It’s loud and extremely stylish.  It’s hard to on some level to defend a film so in love with violence and bullets, so there’s no reason to even try to do so.  The 2 DVD set boasts some nifty extras as well.  The cast members are all good (Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman are especially well cast)but the real star of the film is Russian director Timur Bekmambetov.  The director of the cult Russian hits Night Watch and Day Watch, he will have a long career in Hollywood doing big budget action films.

Heroes Season 3 Episode 10: The Eclipse Part 1 Recap

 heroes s3 e10 01 Heroes Season 3 Episode 10: The Eclipse Part 1 Recap

Another Heroes episode has come and gone. I’ve pretty much given up on the show’s ability to match the scope of the first season. With that said, all the episodes that we’ve seen so far in season 3 are slowly progressing. It’s as if they ran out of ideas and is dragging an hour episode into a whole season.…

Heroes Season 3 Episode 8: Villains Recap

heroes s3 e8 01 Heroes Season 3 Episode 8: Villains Recap

Now we’re getting to the good stuff.  An exciting episode from Heroes? You’re kidding me right?  Well this episode has me excited only because it was able to link season 3 to season 1.  Even though the episode is called “Villains,” it should have been called, “How Heroes Got Fun.”

The Past

In the last episode, we end up with Hiro with the African’s power, which I learned in this episode that his name is Usutu.  Hiro’s eyes turn white and he is unconscious.  With the Usutu’s powers, he is now able to see the past, about 18 months to 12 …

Well another Heroes came and went.  As the show is progressing, it’s getting harder and harder to remain interested.  But, as a fan, I have to keep on watching just to see what happens.  Why keep watching? Because I’m a sucker.  Haven’t you ever had that feeling that something is really sucking the life out of you, but you can’t stop yourself from it?  This episode isn’t that bad, but it isn’t that great either.  Now let’s get to it shall we?…
