Conventions

Pacific Media Expo (PMX) is similar event to Anime Expo (AX): experiencing Japanese pop culture, especially Anime. Both events have cosplayers. But this is where the similarities end. While Anime Expo has become a huge event every July 4th weekend, Pacific Media Expo is on its last legs. But just because PMX is on its deathbed, didn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it.

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to attend a local convention by the name of Autumn Dream, at the Lancaster Fairgrounds Poppy Pavilion, October 18-19.
Due to work I was unable to stay the whole event. I will brief you on some quick history of this convention. In previous years this convention has gone by the name of Ani-magic and was held for a typical con period(a full weekend). Due to some unknown force and situations this convention had to be revamped and redone to the current conception.

Well Blizzcon was an excellent event, better than E for All, that’s for sure. Stay tuned later this week for the convention report. Click on the link below for the gallery.
Thanks to BitMaster for the pics.
This one’s called Gaming with Tentacles. Check out the Tentacle Brothers as they infiltrate E for All 2008, with interviews from the The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters cast, Steve Wiebe and Walter Day, cosplayers, PMS girls, Mana Potion dudes, and more.
We tried to get as much Gears of War 2 footage, but was stopped by Microsoft personnel. We did get to play Guitar Hero World Tour though. I feel it’s the same as Rock Band, but I was singing to Everlong by Foo Fighters, Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, and What I’ve Done by Linkin Park.
Ah yes, here’s our Everlong music video of the Tentacle Brothers at E for All 2008 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This is a montage of our trip to the event showcasing us playing Guitar Hero World Tour along with cameos by Walter Day, Steve Wiebe, and more.
Did you know? This video actually makes E for All look better than what it really is, teehee =D

It looks like this will be the second and final year for E for All. What was supposed to be E3 for the public, turned out to be an embarrassing event. While E3 reached 70,000 in attendance in its peak, E for All would be greatful if they reached 10,000. Besides Microsoft, Ubisoft and EA showing up at the event, no other big video game were to be seen. You know the event is a failure when Target has a bigger booth than Microsoft and Ubisoft.

Long line

E For All pictures are up. I’ll have the recap of the event later today. Video coming soon! Gallery after the break
Anime Expo was truly a blast. Here we have the finale of Anime Expo 2008. The Tentacle Brothers say farewell and meets up with more nerds, a tentacle artist, Hawaiian Jason, crossplayers, Pac-Man’s ghosts, a Yaoi fan, pimp Mario, Tetris block, and plenty of tentacle fans (especially the last one). Hopefully you guys enjoy it as much as we enjoyed covering it.
Tune in the next time when the Tentacle Brothers party it up at E for All, the bastard child of E3!
Hey all, here’s part 3 of the Tentacle Bros @ Anime Expo 2008. This ep features Stepanie Yanez (super kawaii), megaphone-man, Ino cosplayer, chasing Tequila and Final Fantasy cosplayers, and matchmaking.
