Disney releases another live action re-imagining, this time it’s the origins of “Oz.”

The movie is better than Disney’s Alice In Wonderland but similar problems arise.

First, the acting.  James Franco plays the role of Oz as he’s magically transported to the fairy tale world of uhm…Oz.  Franco tries his best to be purposefully hammy but just comes out as bad acting.  The rest of the cast is a bit better but when the lead actor is terrible, the movie is off to a bad start.

Sam Raimi, the man behind the original Spider-Man movies, still shoots the movie with great …

DVD Review: Monsuno – Destiny

DVD Review: Monsuno – Destiny

monsuno DVD Review: Monsuno Destiny

The premise for “Monsuno” sounds really familiar:

Monsters are launched from a container by their masters as they duke it out.  Yes, it sounds like tv show in the 90’s that starts with “P” and ends with “N.”

“Monsuno” is a new tv show on Nicktoons.  It deals with main character, Chase and his 2 friends, Bren and Jinja as they try to fight the villains in S.T.O.R.M.  The baddies are after Chase because he has monsters called Monsumo, that’s suppose to control the destiny of Earth.  These monsters look like a combination of different animals such as a tiger and …

First Clip Of Dark Knight Returns Part 2

First Clip Of Dark Knight Returns Part 2

The animated flick, Dark Knight Returns Part 1 was surprisingly great.  I thought it would be crap but I loved the tone and slow pace.  Just don’t confuse slow as boring because the movie was exciting.  I loved the buildup.

Part 2 comes out Jan 29th and Wb has released the first clip of slow ass Batman taking out slow reflex cops.  These clips look silly because it’s taken out of context of the entire film…I hope.  Anyways….

findingnemo3d Blu Ray Review: Finding Nemo 3D

Finding Nemo is my favorite Pixar film.  The trailers weren’t interesting but when I watched it, I was hooked (get it?).  The tale is about a clown fish named Marlin.  Marlin was carefree but his life was turned upside down when a bigger fish attacked his wife and all their eggs.  Only one egg survived and he names his kid, Nemo.  Because of the tragic event, Merlin is over protective of his son.  Nemo gets caught by a scuba diver and the adventure begins as the father tries to search for his son.

Merlin and Nemo meets gnarly turtles, awkward sharks …

The Story
Up
is an animated film unlike others. It is a Pixar/Disney film nonetheless, but it covers a heavier theme than the studio’s other animated movies. Up focuses on an old man named Carl Frederickson. He is grumpy, lonely, and sad.

Up opens with Carl Frederickson as a kid, watching the black & white adventure film reels at the movies. Then, he meets Ellie, she also loves adventure. They grow up, get married, and had plans. But, like most of us, things get in the way of our plans. They get old, and Ellie eventually gets cancer and passes away, …

Dark Knight Rises Video Preview

Dark Knight Rises Video Preview

Just in time for next week’s release (Dec. 4th) of the film on DVD/Blu-ray. Here’s a 13-minute video of Dark Knight Rises consisting mainly of the crew talking about their roles, and what Nolan wanted to achieve. While it’s mostly an admiration-fest of fellow cast members, it does have some interesting facts about the movie. Enjoy!

Coming to DVD November 13, 2012 is Astonishing X-Men: Unstoppable, a motion comic by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. For those who don’t know, a motion comic is somewhat like a carton, but has only limited animation if any at all. The X-Men are recruited by Brand; a green-haired women with major ties to the government. The heroes are sent into space to stop the Breakworld from destroying Earth.
