EA’s New MMA Game

A sweet armbar, but why is Fedor sleeping?

The first shot of EA’s new MMA game, is of Fedor Emelianenko (the #1 HW in the world) victimizing somebody’s arm. This shot looks pre-rendered, the final game will look less impressive. But, if EA really want to impress the MMA fans, they need to worry more about the gameplay, rather than the graphics. The UFC game was pretty deep, but not deep enough to keep me entertained for a long time. It was fun for the first week or so, until you find ways and different systems to beat certain fighters, with no way for them to counter your moves. Let’s hope that EA learns from THQs mistakes, and makes this game better.

Other fighters signed with EA so far are Brett Rogers, Jake Shields, Renato Babalu Sobral, Gerard Mousasi (LHW champion), Jay Hieron, Jason Miller, and Tim Sylvia. Referee Big John McCarthy is also signed for the game.

Rumor is that CBS will air an ad for EA’s MMA game on the Nov. 7th Strikeforce Event, so keep an eye out. Strikeforce starts at 8pm (pacific) on CBS.
