Note to readers: This has NO spoilers!

Deadliest Warrior is back for a second season and it’s still as testosterone fueled as ever.  For those that has never seen the show, it pits two different warriors and analyzes their weapons for speed, damage and toughness.  The results are then put into the a program where they have simulated battles.

The first episode has the L.A”s SWAT going against Germany’s counter terrorist GSG 9.  The episode is 90 minutes long and consisted of 4 tests: assault rifle, sniper, crowd control devices and shotgun. Spike listened to the fans and the tests are more balanced.  For this episode, 3 out of the 4 weapons had the same test elements.  My biggest complaint about the first season was that strategy wasn’t a factor on the outcome of the fights.  They also changed that.  For the assault rifle, they made a 2-man team enter a room full of bad guys and hostages.  Not only do you see the weapons come into play, but you can clearly see the different strategies being used.  This can also be seen in the shotguns as they have moving and stable targets.  Although the crowd control tests were different, I found it funny.  They actually tasered a guy to see the damage it causes.  The worst part was removing the wires from the poor guy.  It looked painful but the way he fell was comical.

The battle scene at the end wasn’t that great and it seemed rushed.  Both teams were just running around without using too much strategy.  But I’ll take that trade off for better and more balanced tests.

Season 2 of Deadliest Warrior airs on April 20th, 8:30 – 10 p.m ET/PT.
