I wanted to recommend Sci Fi Channel’s ambitious and cool looking reinvention of The Wizard of Oz. Tin Man has a strong cast and a big budget so I figure we should all support it so The Sci Fi Channel will stop making films like Python 2 and Dragon Fighter.

Here is a link to the trailer on youtube, enjoy:

10 Underrated Films

10 Underrated Films

 hannibalrising teaserposterbig 10 Underrated Films

These are ten of the most underrated films around, according to me, and in no particular order.  I went for more recent films but there are many others that could have made my list.

1.  Hannibal Rising-  Hannibal Rising is a straight-ahead and extremely well-made revenge prequel that was ripped to shreds by overzealous critics and largely ignored in theatres.  Rising is the best Hannibal film since Silence of the Lambs and the first without Anthony Hopkins, which probably helps to explain its fresh take on the now tired character.

2.  Rules of Attraction-  Rules is a nasty, no holds barred …

360 Rules!!!

360 Rules!!!

assassins creed 360 Rules!!!

This is a great time to be a 360 owner.  With games like Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, and Assassin’s Creed out (Yeah I know, two of the games are also on PS3), I’m like going to go broke.  Gotta get my hands on Call of Duty 4 after I’m done playing AC and ME.  I’ve beaten both games, but am still playing again to finish some missions and to see different ways of playing the game.

I’ve had fun with Assassin’s Creed and Mass Effect.  Both games have flaws, but the pros outweighs them.

For Assassin’s Creed, it’s like …

Batman & Son – Action Figure Review

Batman & Son – Action Figure Review

group Batman & Son Action Figure Review

The latest Batman line from DC is based on “Batman & Son”, written by Grant Morrison & art by Andy Kubert. The story tells the tale of Batman’s relationship with his new discovered son, Damian. Problem is, Damian’s grandfather is Rha’s Al Ghul and has been trained by the league of assasins to kill all criminals. The story isn’t really serious, but a very entertaining one. Highlights include Robin and Damian’s first encounter, Batman getting pounded by a character that resembles Bane and the future of Damian.

The set comes with 5 figures but you will be only spending on …

Beowulf

Beowulf

beowulf poster Beowulf

Everytime I see this preview, I want to go choke a bitch. Yes, Beowulf will be epic. Yes, it will look badass in IMAX 3D (just because it’s in 3D! Who would’ve thunk that!). But the one thing that will hinder me throughout the whole movie is pretty much unavoidable. You guessed it. It’s the fact that they’ve modeled thei 3D characters after the actors involved in it.…

Film Review: No Country For Old Men

nocountryforoldmen bigposter Film Review: No Country For Old Men

Having just done a list on overrated films, I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to add the new Coen Brothers film, No Country for Old Men to that list.  The reviews for the film have been practically orgasmic early on and the raves kept coming.  It looks like that won’t be an issue because No Country is not overrated.  It’s the one film that lives up to the hype and easily the best film of the year so far.

The film concerns a hunter named Llewelyn Moss (played by the excellent Josh Brolin, perfectly cast) who stumbles across a bunch …

These are ten of the most overrated films around, according to me, and in no particular order.

1.  The English Patient- Boring epic that goes on and on numbing its audience into submission or a restful slumber.  I can’t believe it won best picture.

2.  Junebug- More overrated indie claptrap featuring endless quirky characters including a 10 minute monologue from a bigot who draws penis paintings that no sane art gallery would ever sell.  Amy Adams is terrific though, she kept me from losing the last shreds of my sanity.

3.  Little Miss Sunshine- cringe-inducing and unfunny with a good performance …

Action Figure Review – McFarlane’s Twisted Christmas

ms2 Action Figure Review McFarlanes Twisted Christmas

I’ve been a Mcfarlane collector ever since the first Spawn line came out in 1994. Even though I’m not a big fan of the comic, I loved the way he designed the figures. He set a new standard on action figures and today he continues this trend. Picked up my set (6 figures) over the weekend for $60.

santa Action Figure Review McFarlanes Twisted Christmas

If I remember right, this is McFarlane’s third “Twisted Line”. Original line was based on Wizard of Oz and the second had a Fairy Tales them. The latest series consists of “Christmas” characters. McFarlane decided to choose:

Santa Claus
Mrs. Claus
Rudy Reindeer(I …

5th Xbox 360 – same as the previous 4?

5th Xbox 360 – same as the previous 4?

xbox5 5th Xbox 360 same as the previous 4?

Finally got my 5th Xbox yesterday from MS after returning the previous 3 for Red Ring of Death and a disk error message(first one was returned back to Best Buy). Took about four and a half weeks to send me a replacement. So is this one as good as new? I wouldn’t say so because the fan is very loud. But it is more sturdy than the previous two they sent me. I can’t hear any of the parts moving and the power button isn’t stuck and doesn’t feel flimsy.

Overall, I’m satisfied with this 360. Manufacturer’s date is 9/02/07, same …
