Imagine having a natural disaster in your community, like an earthquake or hurricane. You want to get aid from the government as soon as possible so they can give you shelter, food and help out the community. Currently, it can take several days to get relief from the government because it takes time setting up a command center. In terms of disasters, time = lives. The sooner the government can help, the more people will be saved. How would you like it if the prep time for a command center is cut down to minutes and operation in extreme …

41uuCz xJXL. SS500 October DVD Picks

Fall is looming large, time for cooler weather and brooding to some awesome DVDs.  It’s kind of a slow month for blockbusters…..mostly its a time to upgrade your old DVDs, or just pick up some that you never owned in the first place.  Here’s an early week by week rundown of the best DVDs coming out in October:

October 7th

Beetlejuice: 20th Anniversary Edition:  Despite my feelings about recent Timmy Burton films, I really liked Beetlejuice and I’m glad its getting a new edition.

Boy A:  This disturbing looking indie from the UK came and went quickly through theatres, so I’m …

Heroes Third Season Premiere a Zero, or a Hero?

Heroes Third Season Premiere a Zero, or a Hero?

Ok, wow, is all I gotta say. After a very disappointing Season 2, the third season premiere is putting Heroes back on track.

Heroes is such a phenomenon that they had a one hour third season premiere special before the actual episode started.  It was like a red carpet extravaganza involving the cast, fans from all over the world, contest winners, behind the scenes footage and sneak peeks.  It was enjoyable to see the cast hanging out with each other as friends compared to seeing them rip each other’s heads off in Heroes.  All the cast members hosting were good except …

A Very Pink Experience

A Very Pink Experience

Last Friday,  we went to a friend’s b-day party in a jazz club in Chinatown in L.A.  What’s even more weird is that the jazz club was playing ska and reggae music.  Afterwards, we went to the trendy Pink’s hot dog stand.  It was my first time going to the place.  John said it was overrated but still worth going since we were only 20 minutes away from it.  Here’s some footage I took of the Pink experience and find out if it lived up to the Hollywood hype:

Just for the food itself, I’d give it a solid B.  Including …

Fanboy Obsession of the Week: Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Trailer

Fanboy Obsession of the Week: Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Trailer

I’m almost embarassed to say this, but the new American Kamen Rider looks totally badass.  It’s got it all: an incoherent mythology that would land David Lynch in therapy, lots of fighing, cheesy effects, and slightly better than Power Rangers production values.  I was a big Power Rangers fan and this at least looks better than the incompetent Power Rangers ripoffs.

Here’s the official US trailer (the show is debuting at mid-season on The CW4Kids block on Sat mornings):

” The Kamen Riders are the defenders of Ntara, the world that exists behind your mirrors ! ” — WTF !!!!!!!…

Video Game Review: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The most anticipated game this fall, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed starts you off as Lord Vader himself.  Vader lands in the wookie homeworld of Kashyyyk.  He’s on a mission to find the last remaining jedi and destroy them.

Vader’s so badass in the game that when you move him around, he moves as if there’s not a worry in sight, walking all slow and macho.   Later on, he finds his target and kills him, leaving behind him, his child.  Vader sees that the child is strong with the force, so he decides to take him under his wing.  The boy …

10 Great Comic Book/Superhero Movies and The 5 Worst

10 Great Comic Book/Superhero Movies and The 5 Worst

batmanbegins6 10 Great Comic Book/Superhero Movies and The 5 Worst

Top 10 Superhero Films

1.  Batman Begins (the definitive Batman origin film with Christian Bale as the best ever Bruce Wayne/Batman, the film also has strong support all around, especially from Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Cillian Murphy, who plays the creepy Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow)

2.  The Dark Knight (In many ways this is a better film than Begins and I considered making it number 1 on my list, it has a brilliant ensemble cast, better action scenes, a sleeker story, and career best performances from Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart…..for the moment though I still prefer Batman Begins because of …

picture 038 Domo Sold Out to Target: Japanese Mascot takes Over America!

So I was at my neighborhood Target, shopping with a friend.  As we enter the candy aisle, what do I see? Domo whoring himself out at Target.  For those of you who don’t know, Domo is a mascot for NHK, a Japanese station.  Apparently, Target is pimpin’ Domo for Halloween.  More pics after the jump!…

Rant of the Week: Guys Can’t Go for Outta-Their-League Ladies?

peter parker and gwen stacy Rant of the Week: Guys Can’t Go for Outta Their League Ladies?

MSN posted this article by Linda Carroll up on their main page.  It’s about why guys go for girls that are out of their league.  I thought the article was going to be cool, about how the average guy can get the hot girl.  Boy was I wrong.  They interview these so-called experts on the study of why guys think they can get the girl, and they conclude that guys are delusional and that they should aim for girls closer to their attractiveness…….I call BULLSHIT!!!!!! Just read some of these quotes from the “experts.”

“Men might as well reach for the
