 Pro Wrestler Spotlight: Jennifer Blake

Nerdsociety was lucky enough to get an exclusive interview with the super-hot pro-wrestler Jennifer Blake.  Not only does she kick ass, but she likes anime, too!

How did you first get into professional wrestling?

I always liked it as a kid and started off as a ring announcer it was only a matter of time before I got into the ring where the action happens.

Tell me about your character/ tag team

I’m the leader of women in Konann’s Foreign Legion. I will tag with anyone who wants to bring pain and suffering to the Apaches and Morenos in AAA.

Tabitha Advance Review: Tabathas Salon Takeover Season Three (Bravo Network TV)

Tabatha’s Salon Takeover is a popular reality series that has been on Bravo for two years now. The third season starts with two strong episodes. No-nonsense, likable and tough, Tabatha Coffey attempts to transform struggling salons across the country. Tabatha takes over a salon for one week. Each episode usually begins with Tabatha using hidden cameras to discover the issues of the salon, whether its lazy employees, too much play and not enough work, or inept owners. She then inspects the salons and some of them are pretty disgusting, and haven’t been cleaned in what appears to be a long time. …

The Best Movies of 2010 (So Far)

Scott Pilgrim The Best Movies of 2010 (So Far)

Here’s my list of the best movies of 2010 (so far):

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World– Here’s a movie that flew a bit under the radar. It was well-promoted but it lost money at the box office. Now people can discover it for themselves on blu ray and DVD. Hardcore fans of anime and videogames may like it most, but there’s heart and invention at work here. Call it Eternal Sunshine of The Videogame Mind.

Inception– Chris Nolan’s brainy smash won over both critics and audiences and that ending is still being debated to this day. Well-cast and directed, …

Movie Review: Unstoppable

Movie Review: Unstoppable

Unstoppable Poster 2 Movie Review: Unstoppable

Unstoppable has a silly but sturdy action movie premise that reminded me a bit of Speed. A runaway train (carrying toxic chemicals, no less) is racing towards small towns in Pennsylvania and it’s up to two railroad workers to stop it. One is a hardened veteran (played with his usual charismatic cool by Denzel Washington), the other is an entitled, brash rookie (well-played by Chris Pine from the new Star Trek reboot). The two men must battle against their own differences, an evil right-wing corporation that could care less about human life (there’s no other kind these days, it seems), and …

Medieval Times Castle pic 1 Review: Medieval Times (Lyndhurst, NJ): A Birthday to Remember

Ever since I saw the dark comedy The Cable Guy with Jim Carrey, I wanted to go to Medieval Times. I’ve always been fascinated with swordifghting and especially tales of Camelot and King Arthur. When I found out there was a Medieval Times castle in New Jersey (I’m in the Philly area), I immediately wanted to go. My girlfriend took me for an early birthday gift and got us some nice upgrades courtesy of the kings royalty package. We got our photos taken on the throne, a program, DVD, and front row seats.

Rad Review: Rodimus Prime!

Rad Review: Rodimus Prime!

In 1986 the Transformers movie came out to an awesome story, great new characters and the tear-filled eyes of almost every child who watched.

With the death of Optimus Prime at the hands of Megatron a new leader for a new generation had to be born to not only lead the heroic Autobots against the evil Decepticons but also to sell the new line of toys to the masses.

Rodimus Prime was this bot and he was “stepped on” from the time he installed the Autobot Matrix of Leadership into his crankcase.

Originally Hot Rod–Autobot Cavalier and young upstart in …

Winters Bone DVD Review: Winter’s Bone (Sundance/Indie Spotlight)

On the surface, Winter’s Bone has a lot going for it. The performances are strong, the characters are interesting, and the setting is grim, stark, and compelling, yet the movie left me cold. It’s bleak and depressing, and after a while, quite boring. The fine acting deserves a mention though. Jennifer Lawrence is excellent as the lead Rae Dolly, a 17 year old living in extreme poverty in the rural Ozark Mountains. Her Dad has skipped on his bail and now the family home is up for grabs unless her father can be tracked down.

Winter’s Bone follows Rae as she …

The Social Network Movie Review: The Social Network

The saga of the creation of Facebook turns into a riveting thriller via director David Fincher. The Social Network contains a sharp screenplay by Aaron Sorkin with rapid-fire, smart dialogue, amazingly good acting, and stylish direction courtesy of David Fincher. Fincher tones down his MTV-style tricks of his Seven days while still adding gobs of style while Trent Reznor’s electronic score meshes perfectly to a post-modern film where revenge can be played out in cyberspace. I’m still not sold that facebook is such a great invention. I use facebook every day but sometimes wonder what our lives would be without it, …
