Chan-wook Park, the director of Oldboy has just confirmed he shot a 30 minute short movie entirely on iPhone with his brother, Chan-kyon.  The movie is called “Paranmanjang (Life Full Of Ups And Downs)” and will open in South Korea on Jan 27th.  The budget for the movie was $133,000.  I thought the budget would be lower with iPhones being used but the production value must be grand.  Just like Oldboy, the movie sounds a bit complicated.  The story is about a fisherman who wakes up and discovers a girl wearing his clothes and calling him dad.  …

WB has officially confirmed that Sucker Punch will not be in 3D.  There were rumors that the movie will be converted to 3D but director Zack Snyder didn’t want to post convert.    WB’s Clash Of The Titans was originally shot in film but was converted to 3D for the theatres.  It turned out pretty bad so good job to Snyder for caring about his product.  WB’s Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows was scheduled for 3D release as well but WB balked at the last minute.  Maybe the 3D trend is dying, the movie will be still be shown in IMAX.…
