Setting a hipster indie film in a cereal bar isn’t necessarily a bad idea.  After all, Kevin Smith made two extremely funny Clerks films set in a dumpy convienence store.  But where Clerks had lots of laughs and some bitingly crude and original dialogue, Flakes has none of the above.  It cruises along on “whimsy” until it crashes and burns into an abyss of hipster nothingness.  Flakes is more proof that indie films can be just as bad (and worse, nowadays) than the major studio summer blockbusters.  Starring the overrated emo heroine Zooey Deschanel (doing her 100th take on the Emo …

No matter how hard we wish for a real next gen remake of this classic JRPG that redefined the genre, the only thing we’ll get is this 3rd remake on the Nintendo DS.

What we got here is Square Enix pushing the Nintendo DS to its limit to some extent, and showing us that they can perform and outshine visually on almost any platform and at the same time taking us back to the thought of “its not all about graphics.”

Growing up, The X-Files was one of my favorite shows.  As a self-described X-Files nerd (check the name I write under, guys and gals), I was eagerly anticipating the new X Files movie.  Subtitled “I Want to Believe”, it’s the perfect sentiment for fans who were let down by the last few seasons of the show.  Chris Carter’s once great show had devolved into parody and truly became bad when nine seasons in they decided to “restart” the show, only with Scully as the believer (huh) and the poorly cast Robert Patrick as the skeptic.  I’m happy to report that the …

As I have been reading around message boards and other random places. I’ve come to realize that obtaining all of the newest Mcfarlane Halo figures (along with the upcoming ones too) will be tougher than anyone had expected. It is bad enough that most of the figures are exclusive to different companies so you wont be able to get them all in one shot at the stores. Joblo has an article up about their hatred towards the MPAA.  This takes me back to my first viewing of “Indiana Jones: the Temple of Doom.” I was a kid at the time, and the first time I saw the witch doctor performed that heart transplant without the transplant on that poor defenseless dude, I literally grabbed my chest just to make sure no one was trying to steal my heart away. Wanted is a hardcore, ultra-violent action blowout.  It’s loud, gory, and amoral.  I loved every minute of it.  Wanted is really made just for fanboys and men who like their action films like they like their women (fast, loud, and holding two guns that can shoot bullets that curve and bend time).  It’s hard to defend a film so in love with violence and bullets, so I won’t even try.  I do plan to marry the woman who loves this film, and I’m sure she’s out there somewhere.  Wanted is about an office drone who becomes an assassin.  The cast members …

The earthquake rattled my workplace in Anaheim today. One lady screamed, some guys ran for the door (one guy literally ran from the deck above to the ground floor without looking back), some people didn’t give a shit (chatting on the phone and stuff), while me and my co-worker dove under our desks.
