Batman: Gotham Knight is a collection of six short animated films from some celebrated anime studios and terrific comic book writers.  It’s similar to The Animatrix DVD that came out years back and features six short films.  The shorts are uneven at times and not every short is an instant classic, but I liked a great deal of it.  The version for review is the 2 Disc Special edition, which is the only choice for fans of Batman, as the one disc edition has only a commentary and sneak peak of the new Wonder Woman origin animated film (which looks excellent, …

We arrived around 8pm because of work. By the time we got there, the place was already pretty empty. Still saw some cool costumes. Funniest part was John dancing with the guy carrying the boombox. The boombox guy was shocked and didn’t know what to do. Good times. We’ll be updating the site throughout the weekend to bring you pictures and reports from AX.

Well here I am at work, counting down the time on my computer’s taskbar.  It’s taking FOREVER!!!  Got really wasted on my birthday last night.  Now I must conserve energy to attend Anime Expo in the Los Angeles Convention Center.  The thing to look forward to AX is the cute sexy cosplayer outfits.  It’s going to be the first time it’s held at the LA Convention Center.  Attendance is always growing by the thousands.  We’ll see how it does this time in the city of angels.…

 

Yes, I finally got a chance to see this movie after my Vegas trip (which I can’t tell you since the shit will stay in Vegas).  Right from the beginning I knew that I was going to dig this movie.

Having seen the trailer a couple of months back, I thought it was going to be awful. The cheesy action scenes, the bad one liners, predictable story.  It seemed like it was trying too hard to be cool. A week before the movie came out, I was hearing good buzz about it. Then I learned, Timur Bekmambetov directed the movie. Bekmambetov is known for making the Russian cult films, Nightwatch and Daywatch (The third and final installment, Twilight Watch will be released next year.).
