One of the games I’m anticipating November, Mirror’s Edge by Dice and EA, released a demo online yesterday for the PS3, and today for the Xbox 360. Think of the game as free running in first person view.

The game takes you into the not too distant future where corporations are taking control of everything. Not too far from the truth I must say. You play as a runner named Faith, a messenger who uses parkour to move from one area to the next. Parkour is getting popular, and reminds me of Jackie Chan’s stunts. I’d recommend Rumble in the Bronx. …

Congratulations to my Philadelphia Phillies for winning the World Series last night, the city of Philadelphia, and the long-suffering and loyal Philly fans. The team is likable, filled with good players, and they are humble and respectful of both the fans and the game of baseball. Kudos all around in this historic moment for my city. The parade is at noon on Friday and the city is ready to party. We are the world champions and damn does it feel good !

Fallout 3 may seem like an FPS based on the cover, but from the hours I’ve been playing it, it’s more RPG.  The game is made by Bethesda, the same guys who make Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.  While I found Oblivion to have a cliche’d boring story, Fallout 3 got my attention right away from the opening scene. …

 

Far Cry 2 came out recently and I’ve gotten a chance to play this game for some hours now.  Far Cry 2 puts you in the role of a soldier assigned to assassinate the Jackal, an arms dealer dealing to both sides of the conflict in Africa.  One problem though, your character has Malaria, and because of this, your assignment gets tougher.

DID is a company that makes 12″ action figures. This time around, they get political. With the election just around the corner, the toy manufacturer releases some teaser pics of some weird looking guys. Who are they suppose to be?

The winner in next week’s election will be made into an action figure. DID should also release the VPs. I think that it would sell more seeing that one VP is a hot redneck cougar.…

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to attend a local convention by the name of Autumn Dream, at the Lancaster Fairgrounds Poppy Pavilion, October 18-19.

Due to work I was unable to stay the whole event. I will brief you on some quick history of this convention. In previous years this convention has gone by the name of Ani-magic and was held for a typical con period(a full weekend). The demo is available for download on Xbox Live.  It’s the third Tomb Raider game by Crystal Dynamics.  They have brought Lara back from the tomb (I love puns!) with Tomb Radier Legends and Anniversary.  This is Crystal Dynamics’ third installment and continues after Legends left off.

I’ve played Legends and quite enjoyed it.  The controls were better this time around, and even though the graphics weren’t amazingly awesome, it was solid.  Hit the jump for my thoughts on the demo.…

 

At first, this game seemed lackluster. It felt sluggish and slow compared to Call of Duty 4 (COD4). The shooting system is very difficult to get used to, and the graphics isn’t all that great. Installing the game and the update could take up to 1.5 hrs, and It takes forever to get online to play. And when you’re on, there are lag issues and the game freezes up sometimes. I was really disappointed at how this game came out. But, I kept on playing because I was a SOCOM fan (the first one). Although I never played it online, I …
