Movie Duel: Dark Knight Rises Vs. Spider-Man Reboot

Movie Duel: Dark Knight Rises Vs. Spider-Man Reboot

July, 2012 is going to be an epic year for comic and movie nerds with Dark Knight Rises (July 20, 2012) and Spider-Man (July 3, 2012) reboot coming out within 3 weeks of each other.  This will be a crazy battle:  Marvel vs. DC, Sony vs WB, who will be the blockbuster king?  I know I’ll watch both but which movie is going to be better?  Let’s look at the important factors:

Director:
This is the most important factor.  Directors can make or break a movie.  Christopher Nolan is on his third gig as the director for Batman with Dark Knight

batman cast 320 The Dark Knight Rises, 2 Villains Cast (Bane and Catwoman)

The big news of the day is the confirmation of the two baddies for Chris Nolan’s third (and final) Batman movie. Rising star and scene-stealer Tom Hardy of Inception fame will be taking on the character of Bane. A complex, dangerous character in the comics (who broke Brue Wayne’s back during the classic Knightfall story arc) will hopefully get the class treatment he deserves after an embarassing turn as a mute freak in the campy and awful Batman and Robin. Anne Hathaway will be taking on Selina Kyle/Catwoman. What does everyone think of the casting? Sound off below and let the …

500 Days of Summer1 Under The Radar: 10 More Must See Movies to Netflix Now (2011 edition)

It’s another snowy and messy winter here in the northeast so I decided it was time to give everyone 10 more movies to add to your netflix queue right now. January is traditionally the worst month for movies on the box office calendar and this January is no different so far, so stay home, stay warm and rent some really good movies that flew under the radar right now.

Stardust-This was a big budget fantasy movie that didn’t exactly fly under the radar, but has never achieved the classic status it so richly deserved. The best fantasy movie in years, …

6 MMA Fighters In Trouble With The Law

6 MMA Fighters In Trouble With The Law

With UFC middleweight trash talker, Chael Sonnen pleading guilty to money laundering, I was thinking who else got trouble with the law so I created the list below.  Sonnen’s white collar crime sounds really tame compared to these fighters:

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson

After losing his light heavyweight belt to underdog, Forrest Griffin, Jackson broke up with his then coach, Juanito Ibarra and went looney.  He fasted for several days before going on a high speed with the California law enforcement.  Along the chase, he hit several cars.  A woman involved with the accident claimed she had a miscarriage due to Rampage.  …

Kid Actors, Then And Now

Kid Actors, Then And Now

Ever wondered what happened to the child actors that starred in memorable movies?   People might say that Hollywood is bad for kids (Lindsay Lohan is the best example), but the list below shows that not all of them turn out to be failures.  Some actors have become more successful as they got older while some left the entertainment scene and lived regular lives.  Let’s take a look:

Samara from 2002’s, The Ring, was played by then 12 year old Daveigh Chase.  Her next movie will be “Yellow” starring Ben Foster and Siena Miller and scheduled for release …

Exit Through the Gift Shop Documentary Review: Exit Through The Gift Shop

Funny, fascinating, and nearly impossible to categorize, Exit Through The Gift Shop is one of the best documentaries in years. The documentary focuses on a jovial French filmmaker named Theirry Guetta and his transformation into street artist “Mr Brainwash”. The documentary was made by a hipster street artist named Banksy. Banksy came to my attention after doing an extremely dark opening for The Simpsons involving sweatshops used to produce the very Simpsons products that have made the producers very rich. Banksy appears in the documentary, voice distorted, his face hidden in shadow, and wearing a hoodie. Many critics and audience members …

The Sexy Girls of Tron: Legacy

The Sexy Girls of Tron: Legacy

We all know that Kevin Flynn will be played by Jeff Bridges in Tron: Legacy aka Tron 2.0.  But let’s get to the most important question: Who are those babes in latex that we see on the trailers?

Let’s start with Olivia Wilde.  She plays Quorra and an ally to Kevin Flynn in the computer world.  Wilde’s previous work include Alpha Dog and the hit tv show “House M.D.”  She can also be seen in the epic, The Ballad Of G.I. Joe as Baroness.

Narnia1 Movie Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The third in the series of novels from CS Lewis’s epic fantasy classics finally comes to the big screen after hitting troubled waters because of the performance of Prince Caspian. Caspian made a ton of money but ultimately just wasn’t as popular as the original Narnia movie. People grumbled that it was too dark and violent, and lacked the magic of the original, not to mention the fact that it lacked Tilda Swinton’s memorable and menacing White Witch. Her cameo was the highlight of the second movie. Being a fan of Prince Caspian, but understanding the reasons for going back to …
