Interview: David Hayter Geeks Out with NERDSociety

john spartan and david hayter Interview: David Hayter Geeks Out with NERDSociety

David Hayter, a living legend in the gaming and comic movie world. Instead of sweeping girls off their feet, he sweeps nerds off of theirs. From stopping Metal Gears to helping bring the Watchmen and X-Men films to life, David’s got quite a resume under his belt. I had a chance to chat with the man behind the legend about Metal Gear, Watchmen, X-Men, Guyver, internet imposters (or clones, see what I did there?), future projects, and hurting Quinton Flynn’s feelings.

Before you read the interview, here’s a personal message from the man, himself!

Princess And The Frog Disney Studio Tour

Princess And The Frog Disney Studio Tour

4137204870 da2cef5a6e o Princess And The Frog Disney Studio Tour

The Disney studio opened its doors to the public for the Princess And The Frog special engagement.  As I got there, I was greeted with a big poster of the movie and a sign where to park.  Parked on the second level and the employee told us to follow the frog prints to get to the theatre.  We went into a big soundstage where Disney movie props were displayed.  The highlight for me was the black and white life size Centaur from Chronicles Of Narnia.  It actually looked better as a statue than  in the movies.  In the center of the …

Movie Review: The Princess and The Frog – The Return of 2D Animation

princess and the frog poster 320x500 Movie Review: The Princess and The Frog – The Return of 2D Animation

Wishes do come true for me. I love 2d animation, and my dream of Disney returning to their 2d animated roots has come in the shape of The Princess and the Frog, a mish-mash of your favorite Disney flicks starring, for the first time, an African-American woman. It isn’t a Disney movie without a meaningful message. Wishing upon a star is always good, but you have to work hard on it while also appreciating the things you have now.

Loosely based on E.D. Baker’s version of the The Frog Princess, The Princess and The Frog is a tale about a young …

Black Friday: DEAL EXCEL SPREADSHEET!

Black Friday: DEAL EXCEL SPREADSHEET!

Thanksgiving means only two things: eating till your back hurts and shopping till your wallet hurts!

The day after Thanksgiving is notorious for ridiculous deals every year.  BLACK FRIDAY, the day in which millions of shoppers line up for hours, tent out of shopping malls, and wait in anticipation for those outrageous deals normally available at a certain time frame and with limited quantities.

The normal routine would include a delicious Thanksgiving dinner followed by pumpkin pie. Crawl into bed for a quick nap, then off to the store to meet up with others who are at the same place …

Best Movies of the Decade: 2000-2008

Mysterious Skin Best Movies of the Decade: 2000 2008

Here’s my list of the best movies of the decade 2000-2008:

2000

American Psycho: Terrific mix of black comedy, satire, and slasher flick with a stand-out performance from Christian Bale.

Requiem for a Dream: Easily one of the most depressing movies I’ve ever seen, I’ve still only seen it once.

Almost Famous: Cameron Crowe’s affable, warm, and memorable look at a rock band and the kid who idolized them.

Best in Show: Hilarious Chris Guest mockumentary about dog shows.

Memento: Chris Nolan’s cool, convoluted film noir with excellent twists and turns along the way.

2001

Below are some pictures from the event.  Make sure to come back in a couple of days as we’ll be putting up the “faces” of Modern Warfare picture gallery (hint: night vision!).  Thanks to everyone that participated!

Q & A with Strikeforce Champ: Gegard Mousasi

mous1 Q & A with Strikeforce Champ: Gegard Mousasi

It’s been a while since I chatted with Strikeforce light-heavyweight champ, Gegard Mousasi.  I decided to contact Gegard and see what he has been up to.  Below is an interview where he talks about Sokoudjou, steriods, video games, and much more!

NERDSociety (NS): When you beat Babalu for the belt, you looked bored. How was your mindset and what did you think of the fight?

Gegard Mousasi (GM): I was very relaxed going into the fight. I wasn’t bored at all but it can look that way, that’s how I look in most of my fights. I perform better when I’m …

The Zombie Robot Diary

The Zombie Robot Diary

With zombie outbreaks everywhere, you might as well join them because sooner or later, you’re going to be one!

But what kind of zombie should you be?  Well…Ryan Bradshaw, aka Finger Eleven, from Spawn’s message boards gives us one awesome idea:  Zombie Robot or in short, Zombot!

Below is Finger Eleven’s detailed journal on how he made the awesome costume, as well as a video in all its glory, including robot voice:

Okay, so there’s a little more ado. At first I toyed with the idea of just making a crappy-yet still awesome cardboard robot costume. That somehow quickly evolved …

Boondock Saints 2 Villain Talks To NERDSociety

Daniel DeSanto, the villain from Boondock Saints 2 talks to NERDSociety about director Troy Duffy, working with the cast and more!

Here’s the clip:

Here’s a 5 minute clip of the sequel.  I don’t know why they released this clip, it seems like a parody of the first movie.  I hope the movie will be better than this because I’m a big fan of the original!…
