WB was planning on releasing a movie back in 2005, but it was never pushed through.

Check out the video below to see what it would’ve looked like.

Not too impressive, but not bad either. Somehow, it just doesn’t feel like Lion-O.…

Tim Burton’s New Movie Frankenweenie Will Be Stop Motion 3D

timburton Tim Burtons New Movie Frankenweenie Will Be Stop Motion 3D
Tim Burton will be working with Disney again for his upcoming movie, Frankenweenie. I hated Alice In Wonderland but this project sounds fun because it will be stop motion black and white and converted to 3-D.  The voice cast includes:  Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer.

Here’s the official release we got from Disney:

From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog.  After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his …

Comic Film Female Lead Casting News/Rumors

Comic Film Female Lead Casting News/Rumors

So we’ve got two big comic to screen movies on the horizon where they seem to be in the final stages of casting female leads.  I’ll start with The Avengers.  There was a lot of hoopla over the gender inequality in the initial Avengers line-up so naturally Joss Whedon went on the hunt for another female to round out the cast (although 8 to 2 ain’t exactly even).  According to the Coventry Telegraph, Sam Jackson threw some bones on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon recently, first in letting on that he will, after all, be appearing in the other …

Blu-ray Review: SAW: The Final Chapter

Blu-ray Review: SAW: The Final Chapter

SAW Cover Blu ray Review: SAW: The Final Chapter

SAW began as a low-budget (and pretty well-made) movie many years ago and started the “torture porn” phenomenon that is still around to this day. Torture porn is on the decline and the SAW films have also gone down-hill with time. The soap-opera plots twists, awful acting, and ham-fisted social commentary and morality have become as stale as day old bread. The audience just waits around now for the “traps” created by the long dead robed old man Jigsaw (Tobin Bell, barely trying anymore) and the gory death scenes. SAW: The Final Chapter does have plenty of gore and a few …

DVD Review: Monsters

DVD Review: Monsters

Monsters DVD DVD Review: Monsters

Monsters is well-made and well-shot on a tiny budget (under a million, around 800K), but if you’re going by the title alone, the movie is ultimately a failure. There just aren’t enough monsters in Monsters to make it a must-see for fans of creature features like Godzilla or The Host. Monsters is a mix of Cloverfield and District 9, and while it’s not great, at least it’s not racist, gory and pointless like District 9 was. Monsters is a parable about immigration and that’s a worthy subject, even if it is handled in a ham-fisted, obvious manner.

gantz Trailer: Shinsuke Satos Live Action Gantz

Based on a manga by Hiroyu Oka, Gantz is a live-action feature-length film co-starring Kenichi Matsuyama, the very popular actor who played the eccentric genius “L” in Death Note: L Change the World, and equally famous actor/musician Ninomiya Kazunari aka Nino.  The anime adaptation is rated TV-MA and contains some pretty graphic violence and sex.  But the movie seems to have managed to veer away from at least some of those more extreme aspects as it was given a PG-13 rating.

Gantz is about these two guys who get killed and end up in an apartment version of limbo with …
