Tomonobu Itagaki, the mastermind behind the Dead or Alive fighting games, the sexy Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball series and the rebirth of the Ninja Gaiden series in 3D (no, not that kind of 3D).

Since Itagaki’s departure with Tecmo, he has been anything but quiet on his thoughts of the gaming world, and has announced that he will be showing off a new game at E3 with his new company.

Sega is really pumping this franchise out like Tiger Woods going through girls. The third game was just released in the states this year, and the fourth one will be released next year. You’ll get to play as Kazuma and 3 new characters.

The Yakuza series are an action/adventure starring Kazuma, a former yakuza. The game is similar to Shenmue, and takes place in Tokyo, Japan.

Alan Wake was an amazing game that many may have not expected to come from the makers of  Max Payne.  The game had an amazing blend of great gameplay and riveting storytelling.  The creators also made a online live action short series called Bright Falls, that preludes the events of the game Alan Wake.  The series, which is six episodes long, introduces us to Jake Fischer, a newspaper reporter who, while visiting the town on business, encounters a series of mysterious and haunting experiences in the town of Bright Falls.

Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions is the newest iteration of the Spider-man franchise to be released by Activision. The game blends multiple Spider-man universes for a hopefully unique and fun experience. According to Activision, there will be a total of 4 different universes, 3 of which have already been announced.  “Amazing”, “Noir” and Spider-man 2099 are confirmed with the final universe being rumored to have Spidey in his symbiote form. As for right now, we’ll just have to wait for Activision to unveil the final universe. The game itself is set for release in September.

EA and FUNimation Entertainment, the leading distributor of anime in North America, have announced that BioWare’s Dragon Age (think Mass Effect meets Lord of the Rings) will be coming to home video release in 2011. Production will start in May 2010. The anime movie will have executive producers from both BioWare and FUNimation.
