Major Announcement!

Major Announcement!

Since MMA is becoming mainstream and more events are happening, I’ve decided to create an exclusive site just for MMA: MMAdig.com. The site will feature predictions and post analysis for events. Starting next week we’ll start reviewing MMA DVD’s. The site will rate the event and presentation(video, audio, extras) of the DVD’s. I’ll also be reviewing my personal MMA collectibles: ranging from action figures to programs.

The first prediction on MMAdig.com is for Saturday’s Elite XC event featuring Kimbo Slice.

The first article was the afterthoughts of UFC 84.

I hope you guys will enjoy MMAdig.com as much you enjoy …

Film Review: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Film Review: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

indianajones4 galleryteaser Film Review: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Note about the revised grade:  I’ve decided to downgrade my original grade for the film from a B- to a C+ because the film gets worse the more I think about it.  That is all, carry on !

Indiana Jones is back, so its time for more chases, fights with sinister Russian commies, and an incoherent and often silly storyline that feels as stale as an old loaf of Italian bread.  Harrison Ford looks good and he commits fully to the role, but the dopey storyline constantly lets him down.  There is fun to be had in the old school …

Film Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Film Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

princecaspian galleryposter Film Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Prince Caspian is the rousing and worthy successor to the first Narnia film, and it’s vastly underrated.  Much like the first film, the reviews are all over the place for the epic fantasy adventure.  Prince Caspian is beautifully filmed, exciting, and action-packed.  I actually liked it more than the slightly overrated Iron Man, though oddly enough, both films share the same weakness.  The hero (or heroes) are far more compelling than the villains.  Tilda Swinton (who has a memorable cameo here) is sorely missed in this second film, but overall, it does little damage to this very entertaining fantasy.

Music CD Review: Duffy, “Rockferry”

Music CD Review: Duffy, “Rockferry”

51xNrzL %2BlL. SS400 Music CD Review: Duffy, Rockferry

Welsh singer Duffy’s debut CD Rockferry is easily one of the best CDs of the year so far. It’s soulful and catchy and should appeal to a wide variety of music fans. It’s clear-eyed genuine pop music at its best. Duffy’s voice will remind many of Amy Winehouse, but perhaps not as edgy or gritty as Ms Winehouse’s. There’s more of sweetness to Duffy’s vocals. The standout track is the hit “Mercy” which I first heard on Smallville and on VH1. It’s an instantly catchy, melodic treat, like much of the rest of the album.

Duffy’s album has some slower and …

UFC 84: Ill Will Predictions

UFC 84: Ill Will Predictions

ufc84 UFC 84: Ill Will Predictions

UFC has their biggest event of the year come Saturday. We finally have a good title match and a couple of interesting matches on the undercard. UFC should watch out with boring and predictable events because Elite XC and Affliction are making a hard push into the MMA scene. Without further ado, here are my predictions:

BJ Penn Vs. Sean Sherk

If BJ Penn didn’t have a problem with gassing in his previous fights, this would be a very easy call. Sherk is the opposite, he’s a cardio machine and this is why it’s an interesting fight. If Sherk can weather …

Fedor Emelianenko

For me, yesterday was Affliction day. Affliction is holding their first MMA event at the Honda Center on July 19th. Yesterday was the first day it sold tickets to the public. The main event willl have my favorite fighter, Pride FC champ, Fedor Emelianenko face former UFC champ, Tim Sylvia.

Went to Honda Center so I don’t have to pay the absurd ticketmaster charges. I tell the cashier I want the $50 seats. She said it’s sold out since only about 8 rows were available for that price. The rest of the rows are $100 but on the same …

Speed Racer is not an easy film to review.  On the one hand I can’t exactly call it a “good” film, but on the other hand, its a whole lot of fun, and sometimes that’s more important.  There’s been a lot of so-called “good or great” films have have bored me, and Speed Racer surely isn’t dull or boring in the least.  I also saw it in IMAX, and let me tell you friends, that’s the way to see this film.  The cynical and old white people who call themselves “film critics” can’t stand the film, but I can defend …

GTA IV: Afterthought

GTA IV: Afterthought

3760 gta iv GTA IV: Afterthought

Well, so I’ve finally finished GTA IV. What’s my opinion?  I agree with Cricket that it was overrated from all the gaming sites. It gets like 10s across the board. And even IGN said that it’s so great that it’s as good as the first Ocarina of Time. ::rolls eyes:: I would say that GTA 3 was as good as the first Ocarina.

Cons

Living breathing city – I didn’t feel it.  The people weren’t packed or crossing the streets in droves in the big city as much as I would like.  A good example of a living breathing city for …

10 Things I Did with My Rebate Check

10 Things I Did with My Rebate Check

pride 10 Things I Did with My Rebate Check

Yes, sir. I got my tax rebate last week that will supposedly stimulate the economy. So, here’s what I did to help the economy.

10) Children of Men HD DVD – $10
Bought it used at an exchange forum. Now all I need is Planet Earth and the first Matrix to complete my HD DVD. I still prefer HD DVD’s over Blu Ray. To me, HD’s picture quality is more natural and film like-don’t flame me, I have both formats.

9) Chipotle – $8
Finally tried Chipotle for the first time to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. I got the carne asada …
