Priest is an entertaining, futuristic action/horror flick based on a popular manga. Not being familiar with the manga, I still enjoyed the movie and was able to follow it the whole way through. The movie runs a brisk 87 minutes and the production design, while far from original, is stylish and impressive. Priest features some decent acting and cool effects and the action scenes are very engaging. This may be a case where style over substance isn’t such a bad thing. The latest from the Judd Apatow factory turns out to be a very funny, raunchy good time. Box office is soaring thanks to good word of mouth and strong performances all around. Bridesmaids fell a mere 22 percent in its second weekend of release while most of its competition plummeted down to earth. The movie is skewing mostly female, but guys will enjoy it too. Unlike the vicious and unfunny Hangover, there’s nothing mean-spirited in Bridesmaids. In 1982 Mattel offered the first Masters of the Universe play-set in the form of Castle Grayskull. Made of green molded plastic, this large home to the heroic Masters of the Universe has become an icon of 80’s culture.

Castle Grayskull has a ton of play-value which begins with the castle in the closed position, the detail for such a large piece is excellent even if it’s just brick-work in green with black shading. Thor is the epic, expensive first blockbuster of the summer from Marvel Studios based on the popular comic book series. Thor is an engaging mix of campy laughs and cool, gaudy action sequences. The movie is well-paced, directed and acted with the real surprise being that the lead is quite good. Thor is played by the charismatic and juiced Chris Hemsworth with a goofy grin and a wide-eyed thirst for war and the movie is directed by none other than Kenneth Branagh, who knows better than to take all of this seriously.

Source Code is an intelligent and exciting action thriller. The movie does not shy away from its clever, intriguing science fiction premise, and truly embraces its nifty, nutty concept and runs it all the way to its logical conclusion. The cast is perfectly chosen from Jake Gyllenhaal as the soldier hero to Michelle Monaghan as a plucky, potential love interest. The supporting cast is also very good. Source Code picks up the pace and never looks back with a lot of tense, suspenseful moments and some kick-ass action scenes.
