Lesnar, what is that on your chest pointing towards your mouth?

I’m excited about this event. The overall card is okay, but the main event is going to be spectacular. Here are my predictions for the televised fights.

Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar – This fight will be explosive, at least in the first round. Lesnar fights like a bull, while Couture is always the tactician. Although, Lesnar defeated Heath Herring in a convincing fashion, he’s till considered unproven in MMA with a record of 2-1. Now we’re getting to the good stuff.  An exciting episode from Heroes? You’re kidding me right?  Well this episode has me excited only because it was able to link season 3 to season 1.  Even though the episode is called “Villains,” it should have been called, “How Heroes Got Fun.”

Pacific Media Expo (PMX) is similar event to Anime Expo (AX): experiencing Japanese pop culture, especially Anime. Both events have cosplayers. But this is where the similarities end. As of today, Circuit City has filed for bankruptcy.  This news just comes a few weeks after they have announced that they would be closing 155 stores.  It seems the holiday season can’t even save Circuit City in the short term.

All I have to say it that I’m going to miss it.  I had fond memories of the place as a kid.  It was a big part of me back then.  That’s where I bought my first home theatre system.  ::sniffles::…

Reaper is a very good televison series.  The show is well-acted, consistently amusing, and extremely well-written.  Reaper debuted last year on The CW Network and quickly established itself as one of the best series on television.  The show was highlighted by Ray Wise’s wonderful, scene-stealing turn as The Devil.  Wise plays the Devil with just the right amount of gleeful smarmy and a touch of the menace necessary to the character, but mostly, he’s just hilarious.  The whole cast is extremely good and the show actually improved after it returned post-writers strike.  It was one of the rare shows to do …

I wasn’t expecting too much of this movie when I saw the previews about two grown men having to take care of little kids with the title of “Role Models.”  The AMC theatre we were in had a Power 106 promotion.  It was funny to see the Power 106 guys competing with the AMC workers selling ice cream.  It was a pretty lively crowd.  Power 106 had little girls come up on stage to compete and do sexy dances.  I don’t know about you, but this just feels wrong.  Plus the movie we’re watching is rated R!

I met Bruce Campbell last night and had a blast.  He was in town promoting his latest film called My Name is Bruce.  While the film was campy fun, it was Bruce himself that made for a totally memorable night.  It was a rainy and miserable night here in Philadelphia until the great Bruce Campbell showed up.  All 3 showings were pre-sold out and I was at the first one, the 7:45pm showing.  The movie theatre holds around 150 people and every seat was filled.

Cult television/film actor Bruce Campbell is a very funny guy.  His new film is all things to all fans.  It’s campy, cheesy as Hell, and a lot of fun.  There’s almost no plot and the film has almost no appeal outside the hardcore Campbell fanbase.  Those fans will eat up My Name is Bruce though.  It’s low-brow fun and has a paltry 85 minute runtime.  Even at that short runtime, the inspiration flags towards the end, but the film is an entertaining ride for his fans.
